No extra sweat

A couple is taking a rest on the mountain's slope during a walking tour. They are sitting in a green meadow and she is resting her elbow on his knee.

Ascending the mountain quickly and comfortably: in Zell am See-Kaprun there are numerous cable cars and lifts for a stress-free ascension. There are the glacier cable cars of the Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG and the Schmittenhöhebahn AG. If you want to use all of the facilities, you should get a 'Mountain and Swimming Ticket'. It includes the ticket for the cable cars of the region as well as the entrance fee to all of the lidos for six days.

In order to quickly ascend Kitzsteinhorn, we recommend the glacier cable car 'Gletscherjet 1'. The Panoramabahn takes things somewhat more slowly. It goes up to the intermediate stop at Häuslalm. From there, you can either decide to walk the next stage or take the 'Gletscherjet 2' up to the Alpincenter. Up there, the 'Gipfelbahn' is available to take you up to the peak.

On Schmittenhöhe you can save your strength, too. You can master the first section on board the 'Zeller Bergbahn' cable car. It is only the 600 metres from the middle station up to the peak which you have to go on shanks's pony. Those who do not think that they can make it may choose the route from the town centre of Zell to Köhlergraben. From the valley station, you can get directly to the mountain hotel at 2,000 metres of altitude.
